What is FND?

Meta removed a link I used on Instagram to my blog post regarding FND Symptoms yesterday. I’m really annoyed. I have appealed this decision but it just highlights how little is known about FND. I wasn’t even able to write a message to highlight my frustration so I am venting here, I’m afraid as I don’t have a voice anywhere else. I did say that this post was raising awareness and that it wasn’t spam when I made my appeal.

According to NHS Inform, FND is described as a problem with how the brain receives and sends information to the rest of the body. Imagine your brain as a computer. For someone with FND, there is no damage to the hardware (the structure of the brain); rather, the software (the program running the brain) isn’t functioning properly.

The issues causing FND occur in parts of the brain that are beyond our conscious control. This results in symptoms such as limb weakness and seizures. While other symptoms like fatigue or pain are not directly caused by FND, they frequently accompany it, complicating the overall condition.
