Recipe for Natural Eczema Cream

This natural eczema cream is designed to soothe dry, itchy, and inflamed skin while providing deep hydration. It’s made with gentle, natural ingredients that are safe for sensitive skin.

Ingredients:

  1. Base Ingredients:
    • 1/4 cup shea butter (deeply moisturising and anti-inflammatory)
    • 1/4 cup coconut oil (antibacterial and hydrating)
    • 2 tablespoons beeswax pellets (to thicken the cream and lock in moisture)
    • 1 tablespoon sweet almond oil or jojoba oil (nourishing and non-irritating)
  2. Healing Additives:
    • 1 tablespoon colloidal oatmeal (calms irritation and reduces itching)
    • 1 teaspoon calendula oil (soothes inflammation and promotes healing)
  3. Essential Oils:
    • 5 drops lavender essential oil (anti-inflammatory and soothing)
    • 3 drops tea tree essential oil (antibacterial and antifungal)
    • 3 drops chamomile essential oil (calms irritated skin)
  4. Container:
    • Small glass jar or tin with a lid for storage

Instructions:

  1. Melt the Base Ingredients:
    • In a double boiler or a heatproof bowl over simmering water, melt the shea butter, coconut oil, and beeswax pellets together.
    • Stir until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Mix in Additives:
    • Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly.
    • Stir in the sweet almond or jojoba oil, colloidal oatmeal, and calendula oil. Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution.
  3. Add Essential Oils:
    • Once the mixture has cooled a bit more (but is still liquid), add the essential oils. Stir well to combine.
  4. Pour and Set:
    • Pour the cream into your glass jar or tin.
    • Allow it to cool and solidify at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
  5. Store and Use:
    • Store the cream in a cool, dry place. It will keep for up to 6 months.
    • Apply a small amount to clean, dry skin as needed, focusing on eczema-affected areas. Gently massage it into the skin.

Tips:

  • Avoid adding essential oils if using for very young children or if you have particularly sensitive skin.
  • Always patch-test the cream on a small area of skin to check for allergies before widespread use.
  • For severe eczema, consider consulting a dermatologist before using any new treatment.

This cream is rich, nourishing, and free of harsh chemicals, making it a safe and effective option for managing eczema symptoms naturally.
